Terms of Service
Last updated 10 July 2026
These terms govern your use of HeavyShift. By using the site you agree to them. They are written to be clear and fair; they are not a substitute for legal advice.
Who we are
HeavyShift is operated by Heavy Shift Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17344142) (“HeavyShift”, “we”, “us”). Contact: hello@heavyshift.co.uk.
What HeavyShift is — and isn’t
HeavyShift is a directory of UK specialist haulage operators. We help buyers find operators and help operators receive enquiries. We are not a haulier, broker, or agent, and we are not a party to any transport contract.
Any quote, agreement, payment, or dispute for transport work is strictly between the buyer and the operator. We do not arrange, carry out, supervise, insure, or guarantee any haulage work, and we make no promise about any operator’s availability, licensing, insurance, conduct, or quality.
Using the site
Browsing HeavyShift is free. You must be at least 18 and, if using it for a business, authorised to act for that business.
You agree not to: scrape, harvest, or bulk-extract data; submit false, spam, or abusive enquiries; misuse, overload, probe, or disrupt the service; or use it for anything unlawful. We may rate-limit, suspend, or block access to protect the service.
Quote estimates
Where we show an estimated price for a job, it is a rough, automated guide based on distance and vehicle type only. It is not a quote, an offer, or a binding price, and the actual price is agreed directly between you and the operator. Don’t rely on an estimate as the final cost.
Operator listings and claiming
Many listings are compiled from publicly available sources. Operators may claim their listing to manage it; when you claim a listing you confirm you are authorised to represent that business.
Operators are responsible for the accuracy of their claimed details and for holding any licences and insurance required for their work. You must not upload content that is false, unlawful, or infringes someone else’s rights. You grant us a licence to host and display the content you add for the purpose of operating the directory.
We may edit, hide, or remove any listing or content — for example, on a valid removal request, for a breach of these terms, or to comply with the law.
Premium subscriptions and billing
Premium is an optional monthly subscription at the price shown on our Pricing page (currently £49/month). The first 100 operators to upgrade get the founding rate: £25/month for the first 12 months, then £39/month for as long as their subscription remains active. Payments are processed by Stripe; by subscribing you authorise recurring monthly charges.
Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; your Premium features continue until the end of the current billing period, after which the listing reverts to free. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments already made for a billing period are non-refundable and we don’t pro-rate part-months.
We may change prices; we’ll give reasonable notice and any change applies from your next billing period (existing founding rates are honoured).
No guarantee of results
Premium unlocks contact details and enquiries and improves your visibility, but we do not guarantee any particular number of views, enquiries, leads, or sales. Directory performance depends on many factors outside our control.
Intellectual property
The HeavyShift name, brand, site design, and compiled directory are ours or our licensors’. You may not copy or reuse them beyond normal use of the site. Content you upload remains yours, subject to the licence above.
Liability
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for the acts, omissions, or quality of any operator, nor for losses arising from transport work arranged through contacts found on the site.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). Subject to that, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or £100. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or loss of profit, business, or data.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or to protect the service or other users. You can stop using the site at any time; if you have a subscription, cancel it as described above.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms from time to time; the “Last updated” date shows when. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
